You will still need a connection to get this is so important to you, then I suggest that you carry a second computer with you. Please don't come back and tell me about all of the piracy sites cracked versions exist, but it is now easy to tell a cracked version of Vegas from a real version. Yes, you will still have to Wrong, the activation method adopted by Magix is not perfect, but I expect that it has eliminated most of the flagrant pirating. You may also find the other third party files on your hard drive I don't have any for Vegas, so I can't say. I suggest that you do a search of your hard drives. Complete waste of upgrade just looked and I have both the small exe downloader files and the actual installation exe's for both Vegas Pro Edit 15 (471+MB) and Movie Studio 16 (517+ MB) on my hard drive. It was a fun 12 years, but apparently Magix has told me it's time to move on. It takes FAR less time than anything else since I can have it readily available. I mean, for a "professional" product, which Vegas is, I'm often working in a no-excuses environment. Plus my past experiences with system image restores is rarely favorable. Rebuilding a system doesn't take much time and I always have my component drivers and scripts that take care of all those being installed so I don't overlook anything. I also have to deal with worst-case scenarios. A system image ins't a viable option as I don't feel like making a daily image to have convenient for "just in case" plus Microsoft saying "It has to be a hard drive, not a flashdrive for us to retrieve your system image". When time is of a concern, I don't have time for a hotspot solution, despite carrying a cell phone. I often have to work in environments with sketchy cellular service. With 37 years of doing events, "what if" happens a lot. I just need to be able to function without the internet because I have to plan for the "what if" scenarios. It's worth the money to BUY the license for the software I use and I gladly do so. ![]() I totally get wanted to protect against piracy and trust me, I get it and I don't pirate. I really prefer the "good old days" where hardcore old-school techs/engineers were able to work without needing outside assistance, provided of course we did all the proper prep work to make things happen later on. They have made it clear that internet is required for activation. Tech support doesn't want to answer the question. I did not have internet access at that location. Thanks to my documentation and that USB Flash drive, I was able to install Sony Vegas Pro 13 from the USB flash drive, use the license key, and then apply the offline activation code. Also, a very real thing that has happened is being at an event site(where we use Sony Vegas to run a very complex Shadowcast event with automating the light show using MTC and a lighting software package on another computer), I had the boot drive fail and had to re-install WIndows and Vegas 13. I have unreliable internet and I'd rather take the time to download the installer and then move that to my USB flashdrive with all my software on it and run the installations from there. My reason for asking this is that I don't like online installers. My question is simply: Is there an offline installer for Sony Vegas Suite 18, Sound Forge and all the other stuff that goes with it? I've been a user of Sony Vegas since version 7 and upgraded to version 13, stalled and am back and upgraded to 18 just a few days ago.
